Curbing – Our Process

Our Curbing Process

Curbing is a concrete product that is installed at your property using a small machine. The concrete is mixed onsite with custom equipment so there are no cement trucks. Most jobs can be completed in one day.

Design flexibility includes flowing curves, straight lines or a completely custom design. Landscape curbing can also be colored and stamped to match existing tones or patterns. Serving as a successful root barrier and reduced edging and trimming time while maintaining the original integrity of the surrounding landscape.

Step 1

When we arrive at your home or business the crew will get right to work and start to get setup and we will walk the property with you, to determine where your new curbing will be going and the lay out. The ground will be marked with spray paint once approved by you it will be measured the curbing area is prepared for the curbing to be installed.

Step 2

Once the prep work is complete and the machines and tools are in place, we will begin to mix the concrete. Portland cement, mason sand, and multiple admixtures are combined to make the best concrete mix design. We will also include Integral color would be added at this time, if needed.

Step 3

Then material is driven to the curbing machine with a motorized wheelbarrow with three wide tires have a minimal effect of your existing grass or your freshly graded topsoil.

Step 4

Once the concrete is extruded from the machine, the “rough” concrete needs to be finished. Specialized trowels used for this process. Having a experienced operator and finisher is key to a great end result. Our crew is highly trained and have tens of thousands of feet under their belt.

Step 5

If we are installing stamped curbing, a secondary colors or colors are put onto the wet curb. Then your chosen stamp/texture is pressed into the curb. When this process is completed, the expansion joints are cut in.

Step 6

By this time the next mix should be on its way. An experienced crew should lay anywhere from 80-150 ft per hour.

Step 7

After your install is completed and the property is cleaned and the remaining materials and all of our equipment is cleaned up and put away, the curbing can be sealed. Only color and stamped curbing needs to be sealed, grey curbing does not. And a walk through will be done with you and all the after care will be gone over with you at this time.
